Pelikan M1000 Maki-e Fountain Pen - Four Seasons Lucky Charm (Limited Edition)
The Pelikan M1000 Maki-e Four Seasons Lucky Charm embodies both artistic mastery and profound symbolism - crafted by master artisan, Ishikura Mitsuhiro of the Kaga Hoshukai.
Executed using the highly sophisticated Kaga Togidashi-Takamaki-e technique, the design combines raised and polished lacquer methods on a deep black urushi base. Layer upon layer, precious powders and lacquer are meticulously applied and hand-polished to reveal exceptional depth, luminosity, and precision.
At the heart of its design lies a poetic concept inspired by a traditional deck of playing cards. The four suits are reinterpreted through the lens of Japanese sensibility, each embodying a season: Clubs – Spring, Diamonds – Summer, Hearts – Autumn and Spades – Winter.
Together, they reflect the natural cycle of the year and the passage of time. In a subtle reference, the 52 cards in a deck, total 364 when all face values are combined.
Each suit carries an auspicious meaning:
- Diamonds symbolize wealth.
- Hearts represent love.
- Clubs embody happiness.
- Spades, traditionally the strongest suit, stand for courage and resilience.
Additionally, the decorative motifs further enrich this narrative.
- Cherry blossoms evoke the fleeting beauty of spring.
- Flowing water reflects the vitality of summer.
- Autumn leaves express transformation and maturity.
- Snow patterns embody the quiet strength of winter.
Equipped with a handcrafted 18kt gold nib in size medium and adorned with 24kt gold-plated trims, it unites artistic expression with Pelikan's highest level of writing performance.
More than a writing instrument, the M1000 Maki-e Four Seasons Lucky Charm is conceived as a true talisman. Each detail carries a wish: for happiness to endure, for seasons to unfold in harmony, and for life to flow with balance and strength. Each pen is numbered on the top of the cap opposite the clip, 000/123.
Please note we are unable to accept a return of this pen for any reason once it has been used with ink. Please thoroughly inspect and dry test the pen before use.
